I have for a long time wanted either a trailer tent or folding camper.Right now i have the opportunity to purchase a 3 year old almost spotless Trigano Galleon 315 SE . Gave it a good looking over and am realy keen just wondering what others opinions are on this make and what sort of price would you expect to pay.xx
No experience of your unit you are looking at but, it's value is what you want to pay or are prepared to pay for it, The less you pay the happier you will be
------------- That's not a dog....... That's a Schnauzer
We had a trigano vendome which was an older but bigger version of what you're looking at. We loved our vendome but it was just too big! I think the quality of trigano is fantastic & they're well designed. We're considering buying a trigano oddysse now.
If you like the look of the tent, think it'll work for you & you can buy it at a price you can afford....then go for it!
my husband is really concerned about rain do you they leak a lot? i know this sounds a daft question but we have only ever camped with the nylon type tents
Hi, we have a Galleon, which I am currently sitting in during our first outing! This will be our 6th night in it. We have experienced wind gusts of up to 30mph only but only the polythene windows moved. It has rained on and off but not torrential. There was no leakage but I wouldn't have expected there to be as we also own a polycotton tent and that doesn't leak. If you have only camped with nylon tents, please remember not to touch the canvas on a cotton tent when it is wet as moisture can permeate through to the inside. We also have the sun extension as well as the main awning and the two together make a very spacious tent. We have used the small exension awning as a kitchen this week and it is very roomy. The beds are comfortable and you will probably know the cabin can be used on its own (useful for one night stops). It is our first time on an all weather pitch and it is really good. We have used the carpet from our other tent. The awnings took a long time to put up - but it was our first time - if you buy the Galleon I suggest you label the poles. Have you got a garage to store it in, as trailer tents are very susceptible to condension which could turn the canvas mouldy, even when covered over, if stored outside? Good luck with your decision - we are very pleased with it and hope to take it to France next year.
We never had a problem with leaks & we stayed in some awful weather! I always felt so safe even when it was blowing a gale outside.
My dad always tells his tale about when he camped in his TT years ago & there was bad weather & his tent was the only 1 left standing in the morning!
.....and the bed in our vendome was comfier than the 1 at home! I always slept so well!
Good luck!

Oh dear, but if he's not 100% sure, then it's best you didn't go for it. Maybe he'll change his mind in the future - I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.
