Hi ALL ,
I want to keep the spare wheel out side of my camper....cruiser...... where do you all keep your spare wheels??
I was thinking of 'on top' the A frame,
or possibly stood up on one side of A frame against the front of camper body.... but there does not appear to be a solid front under the ally skin....
Can you not drill the front of your trailor. Three bolts through.plate the back of the front panel of your trailor,Be like big washers if you know what i mean.I dont know about campers but A frame sounds a better idea

Its not a hangover, its wine flu!
Hi people,
well not many got spare wheels then? or perhaps just not sharing the position :)
I am favoring the A-frame fixing point as it entails less bending and lifting--- I am now very limited in that respect.... but to put it on top of the A-frame will give more hitch wieght, I was hoping to be able to stand it against ther front panel but that does not appear to be particularly strong on these cruisers, and is towards 5 or 6 inches 'thick', as there is an outside shape to the trailer.
regards
don
the under slung spare wheel carrier, was a standard item on the cruiser.is yours missing?they are right at the back, and to the left at bit as you look at the rear.
hi all,
many thanks for the replies....
our spare wheel carrier is defiantly missing then.... it is listed on the spares ...but, with a spare wheel....
I will have to see if I can find one from a FC being broken then :)
there are a pair of bolts in the floor at the rear and a pair of bolts in the floor 3/4 of the way to the axle both on the left side of the space between the main chassis members, so I assume these must be a pair of fixing points for the carrier
spook I don't suppose you could get a picture of your carrier? for me to see what I am looking for ?
Hi Tony,
thanks very much,
I have been trying to se them on the net but most of the 'newer' units have the bar at the rear to take the bed legs and this obscures the view of the carrier :) .... mine just has two brackets near the corner steady legs....
Have you tried ebay - there are some generic wheel carriers in the for trailers and such including one that goes under the A frame at hitch end, although not sure this wouldn't be too low on many trailers?
I would also try Conway Owners Club , they also have active forum and some knowledgable members who I am sure can more specifically advise as well

Oops, just seen this and it's a bit dark out now! If it stays dry tomorrow I'll try and take a couple of pics for you.
Hi all,
I have a 'generic' A frame bracket, but they only seem to do the ones for a 50 or 60 mm draw bar.
so I did think of making a frame to go on the rear face of the FC to take the wheel carrier.... but I think I may just put the wheel in the boot... no security problems then ....and no struggling with under trailer wheel brackets...punctures always seem to be at the worst possible time any way.... dark/raining/M/way etc, so easily accessible in the boot.
