When we had a campervan, then camplet trailer tent, then folding camper. We had for almost 20 years in all a porta potti, covered in a cover I sewed which had a cushion so served as a seat as well. This porta potti was used up to when we got the Caravan we now have and used for the first time in September this year. The pp is inside my sisters old shed just in case it is ever needed, especially as she had it before we did for about 10 years as we had an elsan loo till she gave us this one. So its been around and lasted well. I think you have already come to a good conclusion, why pay our for what is not needed whne you have a perfectly good servicable loo already. By the way my big sis, turned her toilet compartment into a big larder cum pantry, as she needed that kind of space more than the loo compartment taking up to much room. I prefer the loo, but have no use for the shower bit, use the on site ones, so it also becomes a little storage room as well. It is the very old, more harder plastic Thetford, well made back then.
