I have already been looking in to this a little more and normally it is all about building the heat in a thermal mass be it the concrete floor, tiles etc. The other factor is the density of the weave (heating cable), there is some matting that is simalar to what is used under vivariums that might work. For efficency reflective underlay insulation would also be required and suddenly it is all getting bulky and out of hand. Still I would like to get hold of a sample to try in a small area.
