No you aint.
You started by picking at why I pulled away faster at first post (which was just a light hearted example of something that happened - the Landy driver looked rather perplexed at the ease I cruised past) when it was nothing to do with weight of load so I made a small extra case for why my car was a good choice for my set of circumstances and you've come back every single time with nit-picking. It was a question asked in a folding caravan, trailer tent etc. forum so it's a great car for question asked in forum it was asked in.
Unladen car of 1435 would mean 1200kg is under 80% and 1300 is under 90% and both are well under rated max if 1400-1450kg.
And boat was towed a short distance on a straight road in good weather and not high speeds.
Thanks
John
1200 would be just under 84% and 1300 would be just under 91% actually but as you correctly say, as long as they are legal for the car's opfficial figures that is all that matters for the biys in blue
Whether an individual outfit tows well is also down to aerodynamics, nose weight, loading of car, laoding of trailer and so many other things.
I would think a boat for instance has a very low nose weight and generally a much longer a frame and wheel positions, so the characteristics are very different from a folder of any sort
Being a big child myself I also love pulling away after roundabouts or up hill and surprising those who aren't even towing depsite the 1000kg on the back! Joys of 560Nm of torque
