Hi Kev and welcome to the forum.

If you do a search on here you may find a few previous threads on Transcampers. They are great trailer tents. Metal body and braked trailer so dead easy to tow and you can put loads of stuff in them. Lots came with underfloor heating and a 3 way fridge in the box. You can, if you still have the table and the spare bit of plywood, turn the middle space into another bed for 3 more people. .

The awning is easy to put up too with tripod poles and you sometimes get an extension piece and a sun canopy all in a compact little unit.

They are German or Dutch Alpen Kreuzer trailer tents and imported by Camperlands in Manchester until about 10 years or so ago.

Hope you have lots of happy camping trips.

many thanks for the warm welcome and the info i am slowly working my way through the forum reading the posts :)

the folding table and bit of ply for a 3rd bed are already in place by previous owner the TT only having 2 previous owners.

thanks for the heads up about the awning as when we bought the tent there was no room to see the awning or the sun canopy erected :(

we did however see the awning and sun canopy covers and all looked well.

will have to see if can find an fridge of some description as the tent didnt come with one but im sure ill be able to find something suitable eventually

thanks again

kev :)

Hi Kev,
I am an old transcamper tent owner, actually just looking for photos of similar tents ready to sell mine.(No longer got storage space &large awning too big for our current needs)
I am trying to think of useful things to suggest but can't as it was/is just a fantastic tent!!!!
One thing we did do was put a small spirit level(key ring size) on the edges of the trailer cabin to make sure beds were level & put wooden blocks under the wind down legs, I think the pull out legs already have their own blocks to prevent digging into ground.
Hope you enjoy your camping. Trish

Hi Kev.
Had ours for 12 years. Watch out for canvas rubbing on corners of trailer at rear of bedrooms. I have made some plastic corners which I pop riveted into place. Stitching prone to go where plastic protection pieces are sewn on at all corners causing canvas to tear along the line of stitches (like toilet paper - excuse the comparison).
Also had to enlarge mudguard space as one wheel was catching on the rear floor causing numerous blowouts until I discovered the flaw. (may be overloading but there should have been sufficient clearance.
Been all over Europe with this even though we are now both in our seventies. Putting the thing up in hot weather is causing us a bit of a problem so tend to leave full erection and unpacking to the evening time when it is a tad cooler.
Good luck

We bought side panels for the sun canopy for our transcamper, then when we went for the weekend we used that instead of awning if there was just the 2 of us! Loved our Transcamper . Enjoy
