Hi, we have just brought a 2006 Pennine Fiesta. The water system on it has a submersible Crystal Thames Pump with a filter on the end. As we don't know how old the filter is, we thought it wise to change it but cannot find the filter in any of the online shops! My question is can I simply change the filter or do I have to buy a complete unit, also does anyone know where i could get such a thing for my camper. The unit is a weird looking thing with two hoses (conjoined) and a plug on one end with the filter on the other. The end with the plug seems to make a circuit and makes the whole thing work when turned on from the tap. Apologies for lack of technical ability, bit new to all this and feel like Forest Gump while trying to work this camping lark out!
Don't think the "filter" is replaceable, it's a complete unit as far as I know.
With our Fiesta, we just cleaned and ran the pump with some baby sterilising tablets in the water to get rid of any nasties, then flushed with plain water.

Yes, if you flush it through with plain water.
Easy test, if you can't smell it, you won't taste it. In saying that, we don't normally drink much water from the tap, just use it for tea/coffee, cooking etc. Beer, wine or brandy is usual beverage whilst on holiday!

Like your style! I suppose I could just drop the pump into a beer barrel and have it on tap. The kids can have bottled water!! Seriously though that's a great help, many thanks.

We've just bought our first FC and also wondered about cleaning the water system. Is is a good idea to do this at the start of every season and are there any tablets that you recommend?
