Hello we're put for the very first time in our pennies pathfinder and have discovered that when we empty the bathroom sink the floor is being flooded. Is this something we can sort ourselves like a simple loose connection with the plumbing or do we need to get a professional to have a look. Thanks for any advice
It only gets better managed to flood the camper twice via the kitchen sink this time, hoping that was just a fluke.Taking it back to the dealer today so hopefully they'll sort it out for us. Thanks for your replies
On our first trips out with our (brand new) Pathfinder, we had exactly the same in both loo and kitchen. We found that the "hoppers" - into which the waste water actually flowed then out to the pipe - could easily be overcome if the water was draining from the top sink too quickly.
In the kitchen and loo we held the plug semi in place to control the flow, and in the loo, then tipped the sink back very slowly. No more floods.
Oh, apart from using a Whale mains kit, but that's another story.

My advice is worth no more than the price paid for it

We were advised to put a coin in the kitchen sink to slow the flow of water and this reduced floods
Yes this is very common. You can either restrict the flow from the kitchen sink by coin or pouring away slowly, or some have changed the outflow pipe from the sink to a single size that you connect each time on set up. We simply put a 2p piece in sink and leave it there.
if you look at how it works it goes from a larger pipe to a smaller on with s small overflow sink underneath. it simply cannot cope with huge amounts of water. not an issue once you know
The bathroom one is much trickier and we don't use ours as its a design issue on some of these where they fold up you have to be careful again how much water you out down there and lift up gently at end. you may however have a cracked or disconnected pipe and these aren't as easy to get to
Do dry out everywhere carefully after the flood and maybe get some heaters in there if up to help.
I think everyone floods their Pathfinder sink at least once!
Do check the positioning of the waste bottle allows a "straight line" so the water has a chance. You just have to get used to emptying the kitchen sink slowly or putting a washer or sponge in the plug hole.
We took it back to the dealer today who said it could be a problem with the bung and are gonna have a look at this for us hoping with no charge fingers crossed. I think the kitchen sinksink problem will be resolved by a two pence piece. thanks everyone
