We have a 3 yr old camplet royal. Replaced batteries on the kitchen water tap twice since we bought it. The latest set of new batteries are not working at all so we guess the pump itself has gone. Has anyone else had trouble with this? Will any 12v submersible pump do the trick or does it have to be a dedicated camplet one? If the latter I am guessing it will be more expensive

Sorry I can't help, with your query but:

I thought I'd mention that we don't bother with our tap/pump as we found it to be more trouble than it's worth... It was another thing to worry about when erecting/ packing away, plus expensive batteries to buy. In fact we carefully removed the tap and taped over the hole (saving it in a safe place in case we ever sell the camplet and need to re-install the tap... provided of course that we can remember what that safe place is!)

That way we have gained usable storage space in the sink area. We just use a water container as we always did when we had a tent (I have a bucket with tap from oxfam which works very well). We avail ourselves of the hot water/washing up facilities at whichever camp-site we are staying at.

The batteries we have in now have lasted for at least 20 days of camping, but there is no reason not to use either a rechargable 12v battery,2 rechargable 6v batteries or a decent little transformer.AC or DC will work, though the pump brushes will last longer on DC. The pump is a bog standard submersible,if not working ,they can sometimes be fixed just by turning the impeller by hand. Check that the micro switch is ok before changing the pump,it's under the tap top.

Thanks for the comments. Maybe it was never the batteries after all! I will check out the micro switch etc
