Hi, I bought a Sunncamp 400SE off eBay a few years back. It was about 7 years old at thr time Within a mile of collecting it, one of the wheels fell off, as a I was about to enter a roundabout. It was a real pain as it was blocking the access to a roundabout. Fortuanately a local caravaner turned up with a towing hitch and a rope and we dragged it off the road.
I'm posting this as I have always wondered if this is a common issue, or I was just unlucky. I had assumed that it might have sat for a long time, and the wheel nuts come loose.
When coming back from picking mine up I saw about 3 caravans with 1 missing, which didn't make me feel good as was my first towing experience.
I do think with any form of trailer they should have a yearly mot of some sort.

Yep,a yearly test for any fc or tt posher than mine sounds good. It will come,no doubt. It will be on Top Gear one day,and government policy the next.
Be honest, who actually checked their wheel nuts when they bought their tt?

The thing is a lot of these campers are unused for quite some time, brakes seize things rust etc. then all the sudden sun comes out hooked onto a car going down the motorway without any form of check up.
I know a car mot really only lasts for the time it's going through its mot, but at least things are checked.

the wheel came off my tt,about 3 years ago,but mine came off because the bearing collapsed.yes i had checked them, but they were sealed units so could not see alot.
