Wow!! That rebuild is amazing, really inspirational actually....
Think the 4 berth would suit us better and lighter too which is a bonus, will keep my eyes peeled for one locally, would love to have a go at pitching one too, thanks for all the info... Much appreciated

Andy if you have a look on the site I mentioned there is a guide for prospective owners on what to look for when buying a Dandy.
Thankyou so much for your advice, really appreciated
Andy - i too moved up from a tent - and got a Conway Challenger to "try" - I'm now on my 3rd tin-tent after that. Nothing at all wrong with the Conway, but I had issues drying it out after too many wet packups (encroachment onto neighbours drive) - it once took 4 days (courtesy of our outstanding "summer" weather that year).
Easy to put up, awning went on ok (needed 4 hands) and enough space. Beds wise - I'm not a small bloke either but not quite as tall as you and I was single back then so didn't have any bed sharing issues. I was incredibly close to getting the Raclet Quickstop but just felt the Challenger offered a bit more comfort. All personal choice though. You won't regret it!

That's one of the joys of owning a Dandy no drying out after wet take downs :)
Hi finding all this advice helpful too ..has anyone any advice on the pennine pathfinders . We are campers at moment was going to upgrade to a caravan but now have seen the FC look so much easier to store and no putting beds up and down (bonus)
