Hope we're all enjoying the semi nice weather. Need some advice..
I have read previous threads on the subject, but wanted to get first hand what other have tried and worked/failed.
I have white spotting on the roof and walls of my TT (mold) and need to treat/remove it. I have already decided that the best course of action initially is to brush as much as i can off, and the thoroughly hoover the canvas.
Its the next bit that I am unsure of... wanted to know what has worked for others effectively?? I have managed to remove some on the side walls with a squidgy sponge (brillo type pad on one side) and some warm water and that seems to remove some of it.
However its treating it that I am most worried about. I have had Chlorine recommended to me, and from other threads there is white vinegar/water solution or again a diluted milton solution.
I am leaning towards the non-toxic solution ie the vinegar, but would use others if they get better results. I have a carpet shampooer with a hand held attachment, do you think that would be useful?? Planned to drape the awning canvass over my car and treat it section by section.
Any help would be appreciated as holiday season is getting closer

------------- As a child my families menu consisted of two choices: take it or leave it.
We've just done the roof of our trailer tent today with a milton solution 1:10. Wet it with hose, washed it with milton left it for about 40 mins then rinsed it of with hose, will re proof in a few days when fully dried out.
It seems to have lifted it really well, there's staining left but it's a lot better. Going to make sure we drop the inner tent each day when camping and pack it away with a couple of moisture traps in it.
------------- After a 3 year break the trailer tent is back in use. Here"s to 2016.
Excellent, thanks for that. I don't believe we will have any staining, as the mold just seems to be a powdery coating.....there's no blacking/yellowing or pink stains as such.
I think its condensation staining, which from what you have said about yours might be the same issue??
Did you use scrubbing brushes? how did you actually do it? was the canvas attached to the TT? did you have it on a flat dry surface?
Sorry for all the questions just trying to preempt any probs

Took the canvas of our trailer tent frame, laid it on our drive, ours is on the inside of the roof (where the inner tent has been)seems to be condensation staining.
Hose pipe to soak, milton solution just used a soft cloth to rub it in ( may go over some of the bits again with a soft brush) left it to soak then rinsed of and canvas left to dry. Did it all on the drive in the sun. It's now laid over the trailer in the garage, till I can get it back out to do the other bits then we will reproof with Fabsil and put it back over the frame. It was really easy to take of and really easy to clean.
