Just wondering what your thoughts are on us strapping 2 bikes (a child and an adult's) to the top of our Sterling FC. We were thinking of using ratchet straps to do this. The other option is of course bike racks but we're trying to keep our costs down.
Hi Anna, I asked this question a little while ago as have the pathfinder.
I also thought of strapping them like you, but I didn't like the idea if it damaged my cover, whilst in transit or being pulled over.
------------- Up there for thinking, down there for dancing. 😎
Hmmmm no not yet, my camper does have a bike extension bar for the rear, that I can buy it goes on a bar that pulls out for the beds and goes on there but then you can't read the number plate. Like you trying to keep cost down otherwise I would need to buy a number plate board and wire it up to lights. So more hassle.
Looks like a bike rack for car of roof rack.
You can get these off of e bay cheap. And I just sold one for £10 before I bought our camper :(

you may have been informed .but at one time pennine did do a bolt on unit able to carry things on your FC, we did have one on a previous Pullman[2001] it bridged the whole unit and you strapped things on the bars, hens teeth and rocking horse sh*** come to mind here

We have a maypole bike rack that fits on a bracket behind the tow bar. Easy to put on. It's holds three bikes when not towing and two when towing. It was about 40 quid. We put the other two on the roof with a cheap halford bike carrier. The only thing we have to do is put the fc on the hook first then the bikes.make sure it doesn't impede you turning circle or hit you camper on full lock and your laughing.
