The question is in the subject bar really I just wondered whether it was best as a liquid or in a spray can??? How much does the average fc take??? Any advice appreciated guys
Also while I'm here I should tell you all that the bootfair came up trumps today I bought 2 4.5 kg gas bottles for the princely sum of 3 quid!!! Awesome and one still had gas inside

I buy the liquid in the can and then brush on it with a paste type brush as you need to make sure the canvas is 'wet' with it. you will need a 5litre tin to do a full camper.
I used a gallon on a Conway Royale using a large garden type pressure sprayer. You do have to be quick as it lays it on quite heavy but no leaks and well covered.
I haven't picked it up yet as I didnt get my towbar fitted tio last week and then the fella is in greece somewhere til thursday with his family so I'm picking it up friday morning I'm applying the fabsil as it has some holes that need repairing (I bought some stuff from tvs) and its been in a garage unused for 2 years so I'm gonna reapair the holes and then apply fabsil all over to hopefully protect it for the summer???

Before you Fabsil I would try it in the garden with the hose. Wet the canvas and the fibres will close up to waterproof it. Once you start with Fabsil you will need to do it every few years. My old 1982 Conway Colt was never re-proofed.
I would but as I said I have to patch some holes and the canvas I have seems to he untreated ie non waterproof so I'm thinking I may as well fabsil the whole thing????

canvas is not treated to be waterproof,it is naturally waterproof.as it gets wet the fibers swell, stopping the rain from coming in.
as to your holes, you could have tvs replace the whole panel.they charged me £30 for the door panel.
30 quid??? Do I need to take it to them or can I courier it I bought some canvas from them but was under the impression it would cost 100s??? There's a tent repair place here in maidstone called something like ace? Anyone used there before?? I am grateful to all for your answers I have been a camper for over 30 years and only bought the fc to see if we liked it and also it would give the dog a more secure place to sleep (and of course it has a semi decent bed!!!) ) jj
