that's sounds as if it would be ok, with positioning for the height does it cover any of the window? Is it just the guy ropes that keep the tent up or are there peg points on the legs? Thanks for your help really appreciate it.

It does come across the window by about 12 inches but thats mostly covered by the curtain anyway. Initally I had it freestanding but on a windy day it moved  so i tied the top to side awning pole. I suppose you could attach the pegs through the carpet to make even more secure but I don't think that's necesary. Hope that helps.

Pennine (or Conway) can't remember which did actually make a toilet tent that fit in the awning. I have only ever seen one on ebay for sale - I so very nearly bought it, but the seller wouldn't post.
It is the same shape as the Royal toilet tent http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://www.tents4less.co.uk/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/5e06319eda06f020e43594a9c230972d/r/o/royalcottontt/Royal-Cotton-Toilet-Tent-tents-4-less.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.tents4less.co.uk/royal-cotton-toilet-tent.html&h=280&w=280&sz=8&tbnid=5lGaweVZor46dM:&tbnh=90&tbnw=90&prev=/search%3Fq%3Droyal%2Btoilet%2Btent%26tbm%3Disch%26tbo%3Du&zoom=1&q=royal+toilet+tent&usg=__UBjLZ9f2_Yhvx4nw4TYjyyCQNyo=&docid=tDd-zwytpoFh1M&hl=en-GB&sa=X&ei=6neqUa2iKObP0QW63oHIDQ&ved=0CGEQ9QEwAw&dur=1873
I haven't checked the height on this one.

btw can anyone tell me why I keep getting these ridiculously long links on here - I never had any trouble with links until something changed on the message box

The height of the cotton tents is perfect 190 reducing to 170 (the height of the side bar). However I don't know of they are free standing or not?

Well I had the idea that they have a metal frame so would be free standing. I will do some research.
Would be interested to know because I may get one for our Pullman so we can use it in the awning instead of the curtains or outside at the side of the sun canopy (if I can ever persuade my OH that we would be OK without the awning for a weekend)

We have decided,(well I did, OH wasnt sure worth spending the extra money!) to go for the cotton toilet tent. Roof size should be better, colour will match our unit added bonus, and if we want to use the camper without the awning the cotton one with stronger frame will cope better with bad weather. The bigger awnings with extra cross poles make it easier to divide a section off - but Countryman and Fiestas don't have those extra poles.

Cotton toilet tent arrived today. Initial thoughts colour perfect to match our unit, heavier due to steel frame but more substantial (we felt) for times we may use it without the awning. Frame is spring linked in two sections front and back very easy to erect, joined across the roof section by two short straight pieces, simple. Hasn't got a heavy duty zip so will see how that fairs. Slope of roof looks as though it will be ideal in the awning, will try it out soon and report. Not able to see through material, which is good. Neat clean lines, non fussy and can use as 'stand alone' without pegs and guy ropes, tried in front room. Nothing inside to hang light on or pockets but I tied light to one of corner, canvas to frame ties, in the top corner, but frame substantial enough to hang awning hooks over which would be handy. Canvas doesn't reach right down to floor - 2-3 inches off.

OH says he's sure it would be possible to hacksaw a couple of inches off legs and replace the plastic caps back on if tent proved too tall for awning.

The one I was watching on eBay sold before I could buy it. So going to try a black shower curtain and rectangular rail suspended by elastic from poles.
Will report back after the weekend!

We were very lucky with our awning as we have a cotton roof lining that attaches to the poles. In one corner is a piece of velcro going at a right angle from the corner and we couldn't work out what it was for.

Turned out it was for a toilet cubicle which we found in our linen box - it's made of cotton and has a zip to enter. A really good idea and we were surprised to have it considering our FC is coming up to 25 years old!!
