Hi,
Just joined the forum today. So please be gentle.
Ive been looking for a while now to buy a Camplet and finally, Yesterday I took the plunge and got us a secondhand savanne which is being delivered on thursday.
Its in lovely condition and is a 2005 version. We are really excited and looking forward to our first outing.
Could anyone tell me how to identify what generation the camplet is? In case I want to buy spares.
Also could anyone recommend a good place to fit a tow bar at a reasonable price near Ross on Wye.
Thanks

Hi Steadyeddy

I'll leave someone more knowledgeable than myself to answer your question (Tho I think it's as simple as telling camperlands, who are the only dealers I know in the UK, the year of your camplet, which you have already identified as 2005)

I just wanted to welcome you to the camplet club! We may not be quite as elite and envied as the Holtkamper High Society, but we are a friendly and helpful bunch!

We've had our concorde a couple of seasons and love it. Hopefully you'll love your savanne too

Can't help with the Camplet question but I got my towbar sorted by Towbar Express who fitted it outside my home they were also cheapest and quickest to respond to my queries. I tried to get prices from local people but the ones who did respond were all very expensive and some didn't give me any confidence in what they were doing. We had a new car in 2004 which was supposed to be supplied with a towbar and we are still waiting for the dealer to get it sorted!

Rob

In contrast we had our first tow bar fitted by an independent local fitter and had nothing but trouble with it, and the dealer wouldn't sort out the problems because they hadn't fitted it. We ended up spending as much again getting an auto electrician to sort out the cars electrics. This time it's been dealer fitted, and we haven't had any problems at all.

I'd agree with 'ring Camperlands', if you need dedicated spares they are the only dealer, so you should be alright just knowing the year.

All the best,
Alison

It may be 4 bolts but it may also involve a bumper removal and a cut and then there's the fun of modern car electrics and reprogramming to sort out. I'd rather fit a bar myself but as the car is on a lease I have to have it fitted by a reputable business to enable me to be covered by insurance and to avoid voiding the vehicle warranty.
