We are thinking of booking up at Elvaston Steam Rally and Camping Weekend July 2013 but they do not have any electric hook ups available there.

We have a Pennine Crusader 2013 model and are new to all this, we have a leisure battery but have always gone on sites with electric hook.

Can anyone tell me what will work in our f/c running only off the battery and how long it will last we will be going Friday t time to Sunday t time

lights
water pump
toilet pump (please let this work it is a must with 3 kids)
water heater
fridge (we could run this off gas)
Air blown heater
anything else ???

sorry to waffle - many thanks

You will not be able to use your water heater unless it can also run on Gas.
You will not be able to use your air blown heater on 12V.

lights
water pump
toilet pump
That is all.

Not long and, unless you have a compressor type, your fridge will cane the battery. Best restrict your 12v to lighting and water pump.

The Battery, if fully charged, and in good condition, will easily last the time you want.

The Fridge would flatten it, but, the new FC's will not allow 12V on the fridge to be used off the onboard battery (only off the car, whilst driving).

So, gas for the fridge ... battery for lights, pump and loo flush ..... we add a small 12V TV too, but get 4 nights without issue. (but - never, ever, leave the Tv on standby overnight!).

Go for it and don't worry!
