When actually towing, you're covered via your car insurance ... except for damage to the towed item.
Contents are covered by my house insurance (away from home) ... so what's the benefit? .... minimal chance of damage to your trailer?
Hmmmm?
Good question, but the answer is too many ifs & buts.
You are covered for theft of the camper itself or it's contents if like me my home insurance doesn't cover it. Storm damage to your camper. Storm damage that your camper may cause to your neighbours unit on site and public liability.
If the camper isn't covered when attached and to replace your camper is going to be expensive I would want to cover the loss. I don't think your contents would be covered while attached to the car because the home insurance would probably argue that it should be claimed on the car insurance. Another question I have considered, but don't have the answer for. Is the camper covered by the car insurance for theft when stolen of the hitch of the car? Any insurance experts out there with answers? I suppose we each have to weigh up the risks and consider how much we are prepared to lose, not that any of the insurance companies would payout what we considered a fair value. Pieface Pieface
