Any recommendations on a good campsite in South of France? don't mind driving so distance is not an issue !!
And when the ferry company asks for the length of vehicle I assume they want the total length of car and trailer ?? Sorry for sounding dumb first year with TT
Looking forward to taking my cabanon stratos on a decent trip !!! Thanks in advance !!!!!!

You put the length of your car and then tick the box to say you're taking a trailer.

Can't help with campsites in France though.

Have a look at the reviews, but first of all think about what you want on any campsite i.e. swimming pool, near the beach, shop on site, activities etc.

Once you deicide what you and your family would want then it helps when looking at the reviews. It would also help other members offering their suggestions on sites they have stayed on.

It may help placing your post in the "Caravanning and Camping Abroad" section.

When are you going?, you can usually get a good deal if you book with DFDS (aka NorfolkLine) when the October NEC show is on, the discount code is often posted on here.

For peak a crossing this year Car+Trailer was £58 return for the Dover-Dunkerque crossing.

There are so many great places to go camping in France, it all really depends on what floats your boat.

We have mostly done the Cote d Azur, and have done the Western end of the French Med a couple of times.

Always outstanding weather during July, although very busy and the Cote d Azur is expensive.

For the last few years we have been down to the Southern Ardeche, and have returned to the same 4 Star campsite 3 years on the run "Camping Domaine de Gil" at Ucel within walking distance of the Spa Town of Vals Les Bains, and about 3 miles from the bustling town of Aubenas.

We found the Ardeche to be superb, same climate as the Med, with slightly cooler evenings which suited us.

Last year we did a day trip to Le Groi on the central Med, so also quite dooable if you fancy a day on the beach.

One of the great things about the Ardeche, is that even in peak most roads are clear, and the overall costs are well below that of the Cote d Azur.

And generally we are the only token Brits on the campsite, although you can't move for Dutch campers, they just love the region.

From Dunkerque to the Ardeche is just 600 miles, we usually do an overnight at Armbouts Cappel just 13 miles South of Dunkerque, then another overnight at Chalon Sur Saone, some 400 miles South of Dunkerque.

We find that the "Premiere Classe" budget hotels are great for overnight stops at around £30 and most have a Campanile restaurant adjacent were you can get a decent evening meal, and as a "Premiere Classe" resident you get 15% of the entire meal including drinks.

Can't help with campsites but have done hotel BB stopovers a couple of times and their family rooms are great value for 4 people. Usually a Buffalo Grill nearby or on site.

Very easy towing out there and if your car is not too large ( car kerb weight plus its max potential towing weight under 3500kg ) then you possibly can tow up to 81 mph ( not saying you should but you could)
