Another thread on here mentioned this - I think it warrants its own thread.
I have been with Britannia Rescue in all of its previous disguises for a good 30 years now (it started as the Green Flag under the CSMA Umbrella I seem to remember?). It's now under the wings of L=V and has lost its 'personal touch' ... more about the money now, sadly :(
Anyway, my policy covers me for any car I may be in (the wife and I have Personal Cover each) - it also covers recovering my Folding Camper ......... and, up until reading the other thread, assumed it also covered if the FC broke down - I do not think it does!!
Who do you cover your Uniots with and are you sure that, if the FC broke down, you would be entitled to any cover at all? Would you be stuck at the side of the road?
Mine is up for renewal in 2 weeks, need to decide pretty quick what to do!
I would think they would just take you and fc to a garage because there is not much they can do to the fc like wheel bearings on the side of the road. Would need to check with breakdown company what you are paying for and read small print.
Converted my existing RAC to Arrival soon after joining C&CC. Had puncture on FC back in 2010. Jack i had then was NBG, wouldn't lift it. Called RAC arrival and they came and changed wheel for me. Any other occassions have been a ar prob.
We are covered by Green Flag via the Caravan Club (we have recently changed from caravan to trailer tent). Pay £89.00 for premium cover and this has been the same since we joined 3 years ago.
This cover includes problem with the caravan etc-I know because we claimed in our 1st year. Hitched up caravan to drive home and no lights or electrics would work on the van, neither of us are mechanically minded so called Green FLag ,mechanic arrived within an hour, worked out that the problem was due to the electric connections on the van and asked us where we wanted the van taking. We drove home and as requested the caravan was taken to our storage yard at the time we requested-great service.
That reminds me-I'm not sure if we need to inform them if change of unit or not?
I'm an Engineer, so can solve almost anything - it's just that I would like to be recovered home if a fault with the FC causes me to be immobile. I wouldn't like to leave my FC by the side of the road for any reason.
I'm going to contact Britannia Rescue tomorrow and see what they say - they may recover it if it renders the whole (Unit and Car) immobile.
I hate to tempt fate, it hasn't happened ever, but I haven't thought about it before.
The above £89 sounds like a decent option. The £173, also mentioned above, won't be interesting me one bit - that's OUTRAGEOUS!! It would cost about that to get recovered ..... I will be taking my chances at that rip-off price!
I am also with Britannia Rescue.
I had the misfortune to lose a wheel on my folding caravan a couple of years ago in Wiltshire and they recovered the van took it to their nearest depot, temporarily fitted a wheel and brought it back to my house in Hertfordshire two days later.
I think that the service I got from them was fantastic.

Britannia Rescue are great, maybe they would help if something happened to the Trailer? Even if they charge, it could be worth the gamble? Not sure yet.
Just spoken to RAC ref the Arrival Rescue and Recovery - £116 but with a C&CC £15 Voucher (my renewal on that is due so would be as good as cash right now) - not sure why the person above is paying over £200? maybe Homestart too?
My Britannia cover is £89 but £13 of that is the CSMA Membership charge, so, £76 in reality ....... seems pretty good.
For the £172 i get cover for my car other halfs car the camper AND me bike got the ull monty homestart etc used them for the car I didnt have to sod about fitting a new battery and boy where they useful when oh put wrong fuel in i dont feel i am being ripped off you get what you pay for been with green flag and the AA but feel i get better service from RAC

Strange that - I was quoted for Personal Cover for myself and Spouse .... that means we are covered in any of the 4 cars and the FC in the household. It was £116 with a £15 voucher on top ..... you have added homestart (but that just covers you within 1/4mile of your home).
I have just contacted Britannia Rescue and they have confirmed that they would turn out to attend a FC which had broken down. My renewal is due in about 2 weeks - maybe that influenced things?
