hi all

we've booked a site for a couple of weeks in the summer and it only has all weather pitches. they use pea gravel. anyone got any advice about whether we need to put anything under the groundsheet of our tt awning (raclet solena). I'm worried about it tearing or getting damaged!

You can use a sheet of cheapo builders plastic, or some of that thin foam stuff for under laminate flooring. The quick and simple solution though is not to put the ground sheet down at all though if the surface is good and to wear crocs instead. It's not ideal to have groundsheet down round the cooking area anyway, it soon gets slippy from spills and grease. U usually fold my groundsheet so it only covers half the awning area and leave the kitchen area with just the grass or bare pitch.

We recently stayed on such a pitch and had a bit of trouble getting our awning pegs in as the ground beneath had hard stones underneath the gravel. We've now invested in rock pegs for the next occasion.
