We are just about to buy a camplet adventure but I totally forgot to ask ( and excuse the stupidity of the question) can you store camping equipment in the trailer or is it just the tent that goes in there?

Also, how do people store their trailers? We don't have a garage so we are either looking at hiring a storage place or the back garden. Is it a faff to move a trailer on its side and how do you secure it? With a wheel clamp? Or something else?

So excited!!!

Don't have a Camplet (but do like them) and from what i can tell of the design, they dont have as much room inside as a conventional TT to store your stuff - but during transportation I have seen the rack on top carry a lot of items. We keep our TT on the drive, its on a slope and we have it nose down, then cover with tarp with a large plant pot in the middle so rain just runs off. We have a wheel clamp for security and a hitch lock as well. Its our first TT so not an expensive one until we know we'll like it. Once we invest in a more expensive one, then I may sit it on axle stands and remove the wheels so it can't be half inched. Might even bolt it to the ground as well, or even a security post

As a child my families menu consisted of two choices: take it or leave it.

Hi, we have a camplet concorde which I think is similar. You can carry quite a lot in the trailer, we carry a folding table, two folding cupboards, EHU and 3 of those folding plastic crates with pots and pans etc. Be careful to leave enough room at the side to swing the kitchen pole into place. There is also some space in the swing out kitchen for cutlery and kitchen tools and small items. There is also the rack on top of the trailer, we have a car roofbox fitted to ours.

We store ours in the back garden although we are hoping to get it in the garage this winter (that'll be a first) I've never tried moving it on its side but I believe you can buy some sort of trolley which makes it easier, although if its camplet it will be expensive. If you are going to store it on its wheels for any length of time, it's a good idea to stand it on axle stands and remove the wheels. This prevents the tyres getting "flat spots" and makes it harder to steal. Hope you enjoy your Camplet, we're delighted with ours.

I keep the side annex, canopy, pillows and towels in the actual trailer bit under the canvas. There's not loads of room but if you pack it well you can get quite a bit in.

I leave everything for the kitchen and other bits and bobs packed up in the kitchen at the back, the front box has a gas bottle, peg bag, bed skirt, bits of wood to go under the bed and kitchen legs, breathable groundsheet, a couple of little solar lanterns, can of fabsil, can of WD40, washing line and pegs, repair kit etc, etc. There's space in the luggage rack on top to keep things like your table and chairs if you wanted, I put mine in the boot though.

Mine lives outside part of the year with a tarp on top just in case. I have a heavy duty motorbike chain and lock through the axle and wheel.

For security I have chained mine to thick wooden posts in the garden. I also remove the hitch to stop opportunist thieves. I considered removing a wheel and putting an axle stand in place instead of a wheel clamp, although that proved awkward as it sometimes needs moving.
