Hi this is my first post, have recently bought a 2010 pathfinder with awning , I have an awning diagram and have accounted for all the poles, but seem to have 2 extra poles not in the diagram both have plastic fittings on each end that have a curved profile with a hole through, any help would be apprietated, thanks
Hi, I have added a photo of the poles to my gallery images that can be seen in my profile info, as far as I know we don't have the awning extension, thanks
I would have said they are verandah poles (so you can drop the front panels half way down) but not sure how you would attach them without some sort of screw in fixing. Storm poles was another thought but again, nothing to attach them with.
I am sure someone will recognise them soon.
They are your canopy poles for the front of the awning at the top. I follow this set up that's on youtube and you'll find it similar (hopefully to your awning) set up video. I hope I've attached correctly.
I'd never set an awning up before, watched this over and over and now know what I'm doing.
Yes, those two poles fit onto the short extensions that support the 'flap' at the front of your awning. They hook onto the two 'cup hook' type hooks on the end of the short extensions.
I have been zipping on a cd then fighting the awning to put poles up! Got there in the end but I am thinking it maybe easier after watching the video !
Yes, probably!
However ... our 2006 Pullman (basically uses the same poles as the Pathfinder) is currently using the original awning plus the new carbon fibre poles. These include the two 'porch flap' supporting poles, which were not part of the 2006 pole set.
They are an improvement as it helps tension the flap correctly, and saves it looking sad and floppy!
No ... they fit directly onto the protruding 'hooks' on the ends of the three small extensions that fit onto the centre and side roof/ground leg joints.
