I'm trying to find out the size and make/ type of zip used to attach awning on a 2007 conway crusader (last year with the slide out beds)
Tvs and Pennine and steer are all unable to help( steer sent me 2zips, neither correct.) any help appreciated😜
I have a 2004 Conway Crusader and matched the zip. It's an Albert moulded zip, size 9P. I found a supplier in Halifax - if you search on here I had a thread running and gave their details.
I have 2x 12' zips I'm going to send back to the supplier because the awning I wanted to use didn't fit, so I sold it. The zips are a few inches too short and don't quite meet in the middle.
You should only need one zip, not two. My canvas had a puller at the start on one side and the other side had its opposite. Maybe yours is the same?
2004 was still made by conway, 2007 they were took over by Pennine! It is 2 separate zips. 3.5 metres each. No markings on any of the zips, dark grey in colour and silver sliders
The Albert ones have an A on the puller. You might find they initially used the Conway stock if it was still a slide out bed and especially as yours still has 2 zips which are 3.5m long?
You need to measure the width of the teeth when the two sides are zipped together. Mine is 9mm and the YKK ones are 10mm. This should give you the size to start with.
Did you ever identify them dinopower? I'm in the same situation. I tried the figure of 8 method but had trouble due to the height of the camper and the fact that as I fed it in one end it was pulling out the other end, maybe the strip needs nipping in both sides?
I would prefer a zip if possible.
