Just about to take delivery of my first trailer tent . Need any ideas and advice on drying the canvas. No garden at home that would allow me to open the unit out once I get home. It will be stored in a garage, but again no room to open out. Is it possible to and practical to remove the canvas and dry indoors? Any advice would be welcome.
The website says that the canvas is easy to remove,it isn't! You risk damaging and soiling it too. Plus ,drying off the frame can cause the thing to shrink. You must know someone with a drive surely? Works car park? If it's only a little damp, then half opening in the garage may help. Try not to store things that get damp inside,eg bedding, groundsheet and undertent store. The gsheet for instance can live in the store ,which stays clipped in place.
If you do remove the canvas, you will need a place to open up the camper anyway.

In the days when we owned our first trailer tent but didn't have a garden to dry the TT out in, we used to take it to the car park round the corner and open it out there for a couple of hours. Yes it's boring sitting watching a TT dry but you can take a book and it's faster than taking the canvas off. One year we took it to my allotment site and dried the TT on the access road while I did some gardening and when we moved to this house we used to dry it on a patch of waste ground behind the house.
Then we changed TTs and got one with modular canvas that was easy to remove so we've not had to dry canvas outdoor since then. But if you look around there will be plenty of odd corners you can erect a Camplet in, surely? Car park of the rugby club? Parking space in the next cul-de-sac? Local field?
