Just wanting a bit of advice, just bought a Pennine Fiesta 2002 - max weight is 750kg. I have a Peugeot 206CC 1.6 petrol engine car, with a max tow capacity of 1100kg (which I wouldn't dare go near) and car weighs 1250kg. it is the version with the roof that goes down, hard top convertible.
My questions are:
-Has anyone towed a small FC with this model of car?
-Do you think this car would really be safe to tow this FC with? (I know the weights say yes, but I would bow to people's experience).

We tow with a 1.4 litre Honda Jazz (petrol). It has a maximum tow weight of 1000kg. It tows a fiesta fine. We can sit at 60 on the motorway, sometimes for really steep long inclines we have to drop down to third but it always coped. We have just upgraded our car so we can get a bigger camper next year, but would have been happy to continue to tow with the Jazz. We've towed to mid wales (over passes) and to the lakes.
Your car sounds more powerfull than the Jazz, so you should be fine. You won't win any races, but you shouldn't have any problems either.

Hi, I tow my Fiesta with a Renault Clio Sport Tourer, it is 1.2 but with turbo, (if that makes any difference or not). it does tow lovely and sits at 60 easy. If I have the air con on, like I did the other weekend as it was so incredibly hot and I have a dog in car I noticed a difference then.

We towed ours with a Rover 216 110bhp, which I think is the same power and similar weight to your Peugeot. It was comfortable at 130kph on the autoroutes; took it over the Alps into Austria. We could just see over the top, too.
Have a great time touring!

Many thanks everyone for your advice, very reassuring. Guess the next step is to get tow bar fitted and see. Probably start on easy trips and routes to see how the outfit performs. Can't wait!! Kids v.excited too!!

Keep us posted how it tows
My dad has a 206SW and it's been a very impressive car (not that this helps)

Hi Everyone
Well I am taking the plunge as it were on Friday and having towbar fitted to my Peugeot 206CC. So will have a convertible car and caravan!! Will keep you posted as to whether she tows well or not, watch this space...
I think if this little car can tow, especially as she is petrol and wasn't designed with towing in mind, any car can tow a camper.
Fingers crossed

Easiest way to check is here, in the third drop down box, scroll to the bottom and select trailer tent ... then you can refine the weight of yours precisely in the next section.
It'll give you all the required figures for your train.

I remember the old brochure had a picture of a Fiesta behind an MGF with the top down, by stream in the Dales. Live the dream - you'll be the envy of the campsite!

Well just by way of an update, my 206cc towed the Fiesta very well, in fact better than I had originally hoped.
Now my only problem is that mice have been in the garage stored camper this winter - what a mess to clean up!!! AAArgh
