Hi

We have just been given a Conway Cardinal Trailer Tent and are looking to go away in in it. The only thing is that one of the sleeping pod canvases has got holes in it. Is anyone dismantling one of this so that I buy a pod off you or can anyone suggest a way to repair it.

Many Thanks

Hi there, do you mean a Conway Cardinal Folding Camper? 'Cause if so I've got one and the bed pods seem fairly simple to get out to mend, from what I can remember they just hook onto the poles with rubber bands, so you could take it out and patch it if your that way inclined and if the holes are not too bad!! Or you could get in contact with TVS in Bolton, they seem to be the bees knees when it comes to all thing s Conway!! Good luck anyway and if it's the same as ours I'm sure you'll love it!

Thank you!

The pods do come off so I think I may well try and fix it myself as I've been quoted £285 by TVS to repair it.

Was trying not to spend too much on it as my husband isn't as keen as me but I'm hoping he'll get the bug after we've been out in it a couple of times!!!

I had a thought about this today and depending on how you want your FC to look you could patch over the holes, again depending on size with some colourful flowers that match the colour scheme, you might even be able to get some iron on ones. The bed pod material isn't very thick, which might make it easier to work with.

I'm sure your Hubby will love the Cardinal, mine was uncertain to start with but loves it now!!

Hi piglet- did you get sorted with the bed pods? I am assuming that you mean the actual canvas and not the inner liners?

If you are still looking I may be able to help as I am dismantling my cardinal and have both bed end canvases available. Although my unit was a 1988 unit I replaced the whole canvas on ours in 2000 when we purchased it so they are the green and cream ones and in good condition.

if you are interested I will post my email address so you can send me an email. I am away tomorrow (sat) for the bank hol so I won't be able to reply until wednesday.

Hi Piglet,

Tell your Hubby he'll love it. My wife was a little sceptical until we were on site with the TT up, then I only had to look the smile on her face to see that she was loving it. In fact she liked it that much that we're going away again in Sept for a week.

Hi me123

No, we haven't got it sorted yet! We did waterproof it  with Fabsil and went away in it at the weekend and got rather wet saturday night!!!

We would be very interested in your bed pods if you can let me have more details.

Thank you so much

The hubby did enjoy the weekend even though he won't admit it lol, I think he liked the fact that when we got home all he had to do was take the bags of clothes and bedding out the car and didn't have to find storage space for tents etc!!! Going away again next weekend as well so fingers crossed, I think the kids will persuade him though as they loved it!
