The cooker on our pennine pathfinder 05 model wont stay alight. The thermocouple is good. If i open the oven door as the flame is trying to go out, doing this keeps it lit.
If i remove the door seal from one side, the oven works great. It seems to not get the exhaust gases out quick enough. I also read somewhere that if you cut the corners off the door seal so as that the gases can exhaust quicker that would work. I tried this but it will only work with a lot of the seal not fitted but then the glass above the door gets rather hot.
I hope someone can help me on this as i don't know what else to do. Also the oven looks brand new.
Help please. caprice 6000.
Hi this could be one of a few things.
If your door is left open this can cause a breeze that blows the flame out, so shut your door and canvas and try that.
Is your gas bottle getting empty?
Or last could be your gas regulator, they all seem to suffer from this problem, it seem to fail with rust or something that gets caused by water vapour laying in the gas tube from the bottle to the regulator , they say the hose should hang down slightly so water vapour doesnt go into the regulator.
More often enough it will be your gas regulator, needs replacing.
Hope this helps.

MrT007 the oven works fine when you have managed to warm it up by holding the door slightly open. No problem with gas or regulator, its a problem with the exhaust gases getting out i think.
sounds like with the door closed its not getting enough oxygen to keep it lit. i would check all vents to make sure they are not blocked and would be very carefull using it untill you have it sorted out in case there are vents blocked anywhere and get a build up of carbon monoxide in the caravan.
Yes i know what your saying about Carbon Monoxide.
Thing is its getting the oxygen to burn but the heat that is supposed to escape through certain holes around the door area are not getting out.
The flame burns a very nice blue all the time, if it burned yellow i would know that its not burning right.
When you open the door slightly to let OUT the hot air the flame re fills the burner. spinflow are going to get a visit from me as its just up the road from me.
When people are saying the door I think they mean the camper door not the oven door as I know that is what we have to do with ours.
when we were away with the hot weather we had the awning panels down and the side of the camper and the door open and it wouldn't stay alight, but once we had closed the canvas on the camper and shut the camper door it worked perfectly . Must admit it was very warm in there, but once finished opened everything up again. Used to happen with the caravan too!
