Whilst we were packing up our folding camper in Spain a few days ago, a very old and outdated Conway Challenger (1998), bought for £300 from eBay as a test, one of the metal swinging arms attached to the trailer sheared off snapping in half.
We managed to pack the unit up, just, so we could get home, albeit I was tempted to conveniently leave it a Service Station en-route!!
Is anyone in the know of how to dispose/recycle an old folding camper? Failing that I will relist the item on eBay for spares as I'd imagine the cost of repair is far greater than the economic value.

TVS in Bolton may be worth a ring. I know you are in kent but even with postage on top it may not be too bad. Telephone number is 01204 708131, they are very helpful and quite reasonable too.
Yes, Freecycle. I got rid of my older TT that way, I must have got a couple of hundred replies for it! Make sure the final recipient realises they need a towbar, storage space and they know what they're coming for btw, at least half of my askees were single mothers with five disabled children who didn't own a car.
The expensive bit to repair on a folding camper is the canvas. If that's all right, then it will be well worth repairing.
Actually, it shouldn't be too expensive to repair. I had excellent results contacting pennine (who now own Conway). They were able to supply me with parts for a 1982 Conway!
