Bought a satellite in a box spent to many hours to admit trying to tune it in so what is the best portable Ariel we have just bought a camplet concorde.

Next question what do we attach it to a tripod or a big long pole having been away for the first time this weekend to silverdale this seemed to be the preferred option.

Any comments would be very much appreciated!!

Hi chris , I use  vision aerial (The fish shaped one) with a telescopic pole and clamp it to the camper a frame using a piece of unistrut and threaded rod bent to form u bolts.

Are you using a signal finder with your dish?

we use one of these mini log Ariels and have never had any issues they are only about 1ft long and quite robust it has wing nuts on its clamp so only takes seconds to fit. we clamp it onto a 6ft pole attached to jockey wheel

Vision plus on mast clamped to jockey wheel. Works fine.

One point to watch though. Many folks look where the others have their aerials pointing and follow suit thmselves. A couple of years ago the transmitters were revised when they went digital and again when they phased out analogue. Many small relay stations are no longer used, so aerials still pointing at them wil not work so well.

On our telly we can see the signal strength and by rotating the aerial I can point it in the direction of the strongest signal. This is often not where most are pointing.
