1. Now that TV has gone digital, would a portable TV with an indoor Aries work in the FC?
TV signals aren't magic; the TV companies don't broadcast special extra transmission for people in folding campers.
Essentially, depending where you are in the country, you need precisely the same equipment the locals have in their houses
If they can get a decent picture with a piece of damp string, it will work for you in a camper. If they need a 60-element, amplified, multiple aerial on a mast 210metres high, that's what you need too.

To be honest, if you have to ask, no this isn't a job you can do yourself.

Just the towbar. Honestly, really don't work on this yourself; this isn't actually difficult but with the lack of knowledge betrayed by your questions, you need to be shown not try to pick up what to do from responses on an internet forum.

Hi Mattycliff,
As the others say ,it all depends on the signal strength .I bought an indoor aerial recommended to me and it did not work at all. While away I bought a second amplified indoor aerial a more expensive one and that was poor also, but I was told it was a poor reception area .If you look for campsites on this forum their is a little dropdown to check the tv signal strength for the site you choose .I ended up with the vision plus aerial and never a problem.
As for the socket problem it is likely the pins are worn .I would just swap the plug .Make a little drawing to make sure you don,t get it wrong or google search trailer socket diagram will show you which colour cable goes to which number pin.
Sometimes the problem can be dirty pins or a loose connection .Make sure your connections are tight,
Hope this helps GCB
