hi everyone,im gathering bits and bobz for our first camping trip in 2 weeks time,i know season is nearly over but having just bought a conway cardinal we are itching to get it out at least 2 or 3 times by the end of oct!!!anyway we all need sleeping bags as duvets will take up too much room so we are needing 5 2 adults and 3 kids so on a budget which offer the most comfortable and warmest sleep?
seen some in argos for the kids at 13 euro but not sure if they will be any good?

cheers alan

Hi Alan, The cheaper sleeping bags tend to be summer only type bags.

It can be quite cold in the night in October. Some bags have seasons rating ie 1 season summer only ect with a 4 being all year round .I would also consider electric blanket for adults hot water bottles for kids .A convector or oil filled radiator. Campers can be very drafty

Keep warm and enjoy your new camper  GCB .

Hi

We take quilts, as for packing single on front seats as covers and double on rear seat.

Tony

Aldi have single duvets for 9.99- we got them last year & use vacum bags, also agree that an electric blanket/ hot water bottle & layers - It better to take more than to wish you had = it horrid being cold when camping.

If you are using a site with electric hookup you can buy electric mattress toppers from argos.

We use ours all year round as mattress toppers and if it turns cold just switch them on and leave them on all night.
