Hello

I've just bought a conway tardis, which I'm really excited to start using. Just one question, I notice that some of these have sleeping area liners - would mine have had them? Can I buy them? Does anyone know where I could get a pattern to make them? I used to have an 1970s dandy dart, so this is an upgrade for me!

Thanks in anticipation!
Stephanie

Hi, I had two inner bed pod covers made this year at TVS Bolton, I think they cost me about £90 each, they make the bed pods look and feel so much more cozy, even my grandchildren thought it looked so much better.

The Tardis (and the smaller 'Laser') didn't come with the bedroom tents as standard (only fitted as standard when the 'Cardinal' range was launched) - they were (iirc) around £50 each back in the 80's, so the prices quoted for TVS replacements are not too bad (although, there is very little to them)

I don't know why Conway didn't include them as standard - they are pretty necessary.   No US folding camper has these tents - but their main concern is keeping cool (hence the large zipped flyscreen panels on all three sides of the beds.

Conway realised that this was unnecessary for the UK, and produced their own design campers with just one zipped end panel - and the bedroom tents (which also have a zipped flap to correspond with the outer zipped panel)

They do make a huge difference to the use of these campers, and are pretty well a 'must-have' addition, imo.

Mine is a cardinal but it didn't have them when I got it, but after seeing them on other cardinals I wanted them for mine, I must say it does seem to keep the bed pod warmer, I was going to make them myself but I don't have enough time as I work long hours, I orded them from TVS Bolton and got them in about 3 weeks and that was in the middle of their busy season.

Thanks for your help! I'm thinking of making a set myself over the winter - if anyone could send me a picture of how they fasten - I think it's by clips to the upper pole, and held in place by the weight of the mattress at the bottom - that would be a great help!

Thanks again
Steph

There is a video on YouTube that shows you how to put the cardinal up you can see how the bed pod is hooked on to the poles with the c clips and the big elastic bands, that's the one I was going to use if I had the time to make mine. I could try and put some i pictures up of my ones, also I will try and get a rough pattern for you, I will see if I can get them out this weekend if that helps. I only got my cardinal this summer and I love, so much better than our tent, I'm looking forward to lots of weekends away next year.
