Hi everyone we just got back from our first weekend away in our F/C ,it rained a couple of times but wasn't really hard though but i was worried about leaks so the following morning i check the canvas behind the liners in the bed pods and the canvas was sort of damp to touch like how can i say maybe like condensation but not dripping but i did see where the liner had touched in areas and had damp spots is this normal or should it be bone dry?the camper had been parked for a couple of years by the previous owners would the canvas come good again after having a little rain on it?or should i proof it ?the canvas had dried but when it came to packing up the was a couple of light drizzle shows so was a little damp packing away will i need to get her up now over the coming days to dry it out fully or would it be ok to leave?cheers alan
get it erected , the sooner the better, no need to invite a catastrophe where it can be avoided, would have thought that small showers may not have been enough to get your canvas to a fully weatherproof skin, run a hose over it enough to get it good and wet but not drowning it, and have a look inside to check it out for any [if] leakage, leave to to dry, and have another go,to check it out again, then let it dry naturaly ... no "almost think its dry bits" before you pack away next time

I wouldn't risk it if I were you. We had our folding camper up a wk before re finally got some sun to dry it out!
We have a couple of the patches you spoke about, one on the roof and 1 on the side above the window. We haven't had any leaks from these but do plan to waterproof when we get the chance. I believe it only needs to be done every 3 years.
Sometimes when we wake in the morning our bedding can be cold to the touch and almost feels damp, but if presume this is just cold air and condensation perhaps?

Really don't want to be a harbinger of doom fergo but if you leave it packed up damp until the weekend it could be covered in mould by then. You really need to get it open right now (well maybe tomorrow morning)even if its only for half an hour or so in a breeze.
If it's raining you should open it up and leave it up until it stops and you can get it dry.
You also need to get your awning out if you have one and lay it out somewhere (garage or conservatory) and make sure that's dry too. The mud flaps might have been wet from the grass when you packed away and they could have made the rest of it damp.
ill go open her up tomorrow and get it dried out but it was a very mild shower the man i bought it off said you have a week to do there or there abouts,i was thinking it was slightly damp so would be ok till the weekend so hopefully no damage is done, ill lay the awning out in the shed aswell and make sure its dry cheers alan
thanks everyone for all the advice/comments,the panic is now over i went over to were the camper is parked and set it up the canvas appears to be dry well almost so ive left it up now to make sure its completely dry so lets hope the rain holds off and ill pack her way again the weekend.
