This is a weak wall in an FC. I had it on mine and I think it is where previous owners have used that wall as a steadying point when climbing into the Pathfinder.
It does affect the door opening making the gap between the bottom of the door and the top, slightly wider as you go up that gap.
I found that on journeys, the door would spring open although it was held by the elastic cord and the travel cover.
I solved the problem of the door opening by fitting a hasp and padlock to the top of the door.
This was covered, in transit, by the cover. It was also a good security device for any opportunist thief because even although they could get into the FC by unzipping the door and reaching in to unlock the door, it was only when they unzipped the door, would they see that the door was also padlocked shut.
