The old cupboard stand unit is now the base for our second (table top) fridge ... an absolute boon in hot climes. Used to have it in the awning ... but so much easier where the cupboard was ... just lifts to the floor for transporting.
Our pillows just stay on the bedding ... strapped in with mattresses, bedding et al.
Extra light? ... well, we have several of those ... goose-necks and clip-on reading lights ... so the cupboard one is no loss at all!
As I said Kelper, all a matter of personal preference. I can see the ideal of using the space where the wardrobe folds down when packing, and the ideal of the extra table top, but we work well as we are, and you prefer as you are. If we all liked the same thing we could end up all in Tin Tops! ;)

Couldn't agree more
Just clarifying what we've done for anyone else who might be considering the options … took us three years before we started to make any alterations. The cupboard and the reworking of the window curtains (getting rid of those boring rods), are the two biggest changes we've made … processes kick started by the ever resourceful Lobey Doser in his FC days.
The curtain rods are what I swear about most. By the quartz they had moved from the plastic ones, to metal ones, as per the awnings (Isabella). The front window in the quartz is bigger than our old Cruiser (Conway badged Pullman!) and have a habit of falling off. On the latest models. the loops for the rodas are on the "canvas" and not the ceiling liner.
May have to adjust something there.
Happy Christmas

Aah, that ain't goona work on the Quartz 4 as the wider window on the front goes beyond the centre upright.

You could try what I did on a first adaptation:
Drilled holes in the uprights ... hang small S hooks in them ... then set the rods inthe S hooks ... you'd have to make a hole in the top of the curtain on the overlap side, to allow full cover.
Maybe that's more hassle than the loops fixed to the canvas?
