Our Combi is a Family model, but it still has the sectional mattresses; two square ones & two covers with two oblong pieces of foam in each. The latter two make up into two settees during the day, so the square ones need to fit flat behind the seats.

I must admit that we use a 3" memory foam topper placed in the centre of the 8ft wide bed & just leave it there as we rarely use the seats during the day. If you don't intend to use the settees, you could replace the sectional mattresses with one complete one.

we haven't had a proper look at it yet as we only got it sunday but I think we'll measure then look for a proper mattress as all those 'bits' don't look very comfortable. The Conway we have just sold (to big for us) had proper beds and they were very comfy, there must be a depth limit though to shut it up properly, I think some of the cheap mattresses are thin so might look at them, memory foam is very heavy. I also wanted to get a mattress cover, one you can sleep direct on then remove it to wash as its awkward getting sheets into far corners another reason for not using sections.

I actually found ours on here, it was advertised for £1200 in the summer but the guy had reduced it to £440, we had to drive from Birmingham to Swansea but it will be worth it in the end. I have just washed the curtains and mattress covers which luckily unzipped as I thought we'd need a new mattress, the awning does need cleaning and reproofing but there's nothing that a bit of tlc won't fix. I can't understand why people leave the soft furnishings inside a trailer that stand outside, I wouldn't have paid anymore than we did for it though as its damp and a bit smelly but it should be ok. It was the only one we found for sale though so I suppose either there aren't many about or its the wrong time of year, ours is a 98 easy model.

I sold my last one 3 years ago and it was the worst thing Ive done.
However if you have the Brown winter tarp cover for it, it should remain completely dry.
We left ours outside for 3 winters with no damp problems whatsoever.
Anyway, Enjoy and thanks

we're lucky in that we have a barn it stand in and we remove all the soft furnishings for the winter, the wood on the roof needs reproofing and hubby will repaint/coat the metal roof rack. We both like having a bit of a project, we have just sold a conway which was far to big for the two of us and there aren't many two berth's around, we had a real job errecting the big conway and neither of us are getting any younger, hubby loves the way this one just swings out.I don't think the roof leaks as the canvas was dry but it all just stank musty and I don't think it had been opened for a while also that we think the awning had been put away damp which added to the smell. We might send the awning away to be cleaned rather than do it ourselves, I found someone that charges £127 to clean, reproof and fetch/deliver which isn't bad I think we'd pay £50 at least for the products and then we'd have to wait for a couple of decent days as the barn isn't tall enough to put it up.Incidently I assume from your name that you like vw's our son has his own vw restoration garage just outside Ipswich, he mainly does van's.

Oh yes, Ive been into VW vans since the late 60's. I cnt count how many Ive had. My present van is a VW T4 Hitop that I converted. I convert all my own as I simply hate the standard VW Rock n Roll bed. Probably the most uncomfortable, useless thing in existance (other than Nick Clegg and IDS)

But I have a Cobra Car and a small caravan but I want another Combicamp.
