Please does anyone know if its possible to use a basic porch awning with a combi easy, we thought for one nighters it would be easier than the full one. You can get porch awnings for caravans pretty cheap but they don't say if they are freestanding or attatched, I just wondered if you could say tie/strap it to the combi or maybe they just stand there by themselves.
caravan porch awnings are not free standing, they attach the same way the big awnings do by a bead.for free standing you need a drive away awning.the only problem is they cost alot more.
Not sure what a combi easy is..
we have a porch awning for short stay in our crusader- It has an arched pole at the front- it attaches to the main body of our camper with figure of eight strips which we then thread the beading through.
a combi easy camp is a trailer tent, we wanted something quicker and easier than the full awning for one night stays, something that will stay up by itself but could be strapped/tied to the trailer tent.
Hi Ann ,how does your existing awning attach to the camper?
The only freestanding awnings I know of (as wongers said)Are the driveaway porch awnings used for motorhomes. If you view my gallery, I use one for a Conway cruiser. They are bigger and more expensive than a caravan porch awning hope this helps GCB
the tent is new to us but suppose its the same as our conway which was by poles, similar to a frame tent with heavy canvas, super for a weeks stay but not very practical for an overnighter. The porch awnings look like they are a lot lighter than canvas we only need a bit of extra space not the 13ft that the full awning provides, something that doesn't need the trailer as its support but could be strapped or tied temporary for the night. A normal trailer tent awning wouldn't stand up without the trailer or at least I don't think it would, the trailer has holes which the poles hook into. I was looking at the cheaper nylon caravan porch ones and wondered if there was another way of attaching one.
