Me again - sorry!

I seem to be going round in circles in my hunt for a suitable tt, so much so that my head hurts!

So I thought I'd ask the experts for recommendations!

My criteria is:

Maximum budget of £500
Suitable for a family of 6, kids ages 11,9,7,4.
Needs little to no work, reliable, watertight.
Plenty of living space.
I'd love a zig but don't expect one on my budget!
I'd like it to have a toilet area too, essential I find with the kids when camping.
We don't need loads of extras, we have many items already with our current tent.
We'd like to buy ASAP whilst the funds are available and the prices low before the spring rush, on the assumption there would be a spring rush, as I understand the market has been a little flat for a while.

I am really struggling to find anything in the Derbyshire/Leicestershire/Staffordshire area, I check eBay, gumtree, preloved and a couple of dedicated Facebook pages several times a day, but nothing local enough.

Where else should I be looking and what would be the best tt's for us considering our budget?

Thanks for your help.

Jo

Should add that we still have the possibility of buying the Jamet Montana, just don't know when that might happen. Plus we have just been offered a Cabanon Atlantis!

The Jamet has the underbed pods but the Cabanon doesn't so we'd have to sort something out, plus the Cabanon will cost us a little more than the Jamet.

Both, we are told, are in excellent condition. Hoping to see the Cabanon sometime this week, no idea if or when we can see the Jamet.

Which tt would be better for a family of 6?

Hi,

A trigano chantilly, well made and good value, or similar from Jamet or Raclet, both owned by trigano.

We had a chantilly gl for several years and it was a great unit, two double beds, two under bed pup tents and if you get the tall annexe you can fit another double.

There is also the option of using the seating area as a bed by putting a blow up bed in.

It would be worth looking for a unit with the front annexe also. Have you tried Camperlands and black country caravans ?

There are units for sale on here in the adverts section, gumtree and. Bay, etc. it's usually quiet now but would expect to see more advertised around late feb early march.

Best regards,

Tony.

I bought a Cabanon Atlantis for £590 last year. Excellent condition and we used it for 5 weeks in France. It was fantastic, not a drop of rain was let in and all of the parts are of decent quality. I would recommend, especially with the kitchen unit which is very useful.

Also the double beds are a decent size, we have two boys and they used the under bed pods leaving the other double spare, so lots of space. Regarding the zig, we wereused to tents with sig and thought that without it may be a problem. It wasn't, not windy, dusty or wet. Not something I would worry about.

I can't comment on Jamet, however, I owned a Cabanon Galaxy, which I bought for £450 on ebay. It was cheap as it supposedly had a broken zip. We use the Trailer Tent for 4 summer holidays (2 to 3 weeks in Spain) and a few 1 week trips in the UK. The Zip problem turned out to be very minor and never needed to be fixed.

The Tent never leaked, and stood up to several massive storms, as well as the "famous" wet week, which coincided with the Jubilee celebrations. It never let in water.

As an older style tent, it was harder to put up, but not really that big a problem. The Canvas was brilliant. I really recommend an older Cabannon. Remember that an Atlantis is now a few years old, make sure you get a good one and that it all works

Under beds are on ebay frequently and are pretty cheap
