I thought I would post on here as we've previously had some great advice. We are confident with checking the unit as we've had several FC and TTs over the years. We are looking at a FC that seems a bit of a bargain. Is there any way to check it's not stolen? Also do people finance against FC, like they do with caravans? I thought of asking for the booklets/ receipts etc - but I know they've recently moved - so it could be genuine if they can't find them. Any advice gratefully received.

Don't know if you can check like you can a car !!
We have just bought a pathfinder
Checked it all over, bought it from there home address and got them to make me a receipt for purchase.
Don't think there's much more you can do.
I always say trust your instinct and if it looks to good to be true then it probably is !!
At this time of the year prices are high and it's quite easy to sell so there are no reasons for the sellers to sell at bargain prices.
Watch out for eBay scams and people offering to deliver
Plenty of threads on here about scams.

With caravans there is the CRIS register. I don't think it applies to FCs.

Check out their story, if they've had it a while do they know how everything works. Does the number plate match their car. Do they have keys for any locks. Do they look like they have camping equipment.
