Hi
Hoping this isnt a silly question - what do you do if you need to pack up your FC in the rain? Surely if the outside is wet and you fold it away everything inside gets wet too?
Obviously you will need to dry it out properly as soon as you can but what do you do if you need to be off the site and its raining? I can only think of a few occasions where we have been forced to pack the tent up when its been really wet but it can happen.
So what do you do?

Hi
The F/Cs normally come with what's called a wet pack.
All this is a polythene layer (bit like a thin groundsheet) and it is kept under the beds and seating when the camper is being used but when packing away you pull it over the mattresses and the seating and then fold the camper down.
As you say it should be erected when home to dry out fully.
Hope this helps

Our Crusader has the sliding beds, as opposed to the fold over like the later Crusaders (when Pennine took them over) and the Pennine Pullman. That means that none of the outside canvas ever touches any of the inside of the cabin so packing away wet doesn't have any issues as such, other than making sure once we're home it gets opened up as soon as possible.

Thank you - that does help. And yes, I have memories of packing up in a storm in Scotland a few years ago when we all ended up laughing because it was either laugh or cry!

If what you buy doesn't have the wet pack, then a couple of cheap small tarps are an invaluable accessory.
Once you get to use whatever unit you buy, you'll know where to place them in the event of a wet pack up to stop the soaking of all the contents

Your right the separate sheets are the 'wet pack'.
------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.

We had to pack up in a downpour in Nottinghamshire 2 weekends ago. We unclipped the bedroom pods pulled the plastic sheets over and clipped them in place. We took a gamble and left the canopy attached but covered everything else with the large plastic sheet which came with the camper. We folded up as quick as we could. As soon as possible after getting home we opened it up. It was fine.
It was a baptism of fire as it was only the second time we'd used it.
