Hi all
Just got back from 5 nights in our pathfinder and discovered we have a leak on the kitchen taps !!!
Only a drip so managed with a tray underneath while away.
I have been to a caravan place local and they say no quick fix and new taps are needed.
Just thought if see what you all thought before paying £50 for new ones.
The camping shop say it's probably had some water inside and frozen and cracked over winter.
I have taken the pipes out and checked the O ring seals (they seem ok).
Any advise would be great thanks.

Also the waste on the kitchen also overflowed but since being back I have taken it apart and found it partly blocked!!
I was thinking of taking the drainer out altogether and coupling the pipes together so it cannot leak.. It does seen like a bad design on Pennines part ??
Anyone else had this trouble?

This was our first proper outing in this new to us camper and we are very pleased with it.... Just want to sort out these niggles before we use it again.

Cant help with taps, but in our sterling if you tipped too much water too quickly down the plug hole, it'd leak out in the cupboards underneath. Tipping it slowly it went straight down without leaking.

The drain will cost you 2p literally put 2p in the sink and it reduces the flow, so it doesn't rush out fast.

Washing machine extension waste pipe, connector and jubilee clips to do away with the little 'under' sink. I connected the pipe from the little one straight to the top sink, it just pushes on and off the bottom of the plughole. Can drain as fast as I like now without the peek underneath to see if it was keeping up.

Oh and we had to have a new tap too, I was led to believe they are quite common.

Hi jbraund, next time you've got the unit up any chance of taking some pics and posting on here so we can all copy you, had the 'leak all over cupboards' and that was with the '2p' in the sink (it's done for you in newer models) and now I'm paranoid about it happening again so pour slowly and watch at the back. Thanks in anticipation.

Yup, the old taps go quite often ... it's the plastic moulding ... can't be fixed ... we bought a new one last year (from Pennine) ... different design, works very well.

Best use a newer 2p,they are magnetic so you can take it easily out when you sell the camper,2p is 2p after all.

Sorry if this is a daft question but is it easy to pack down after this alteration? Sounds a brilliant idea. I also think its down to inflation but we use a 10p in our camper!

I know what you mean by the flooding when the drainer blocks up water everywhere.

As jbraund found its easy to put in a longer length of pipe. I took out the strainer in the bottom drain and fed the longer pipe through the hole and push fit onto the base of the sink. The sink drains as normal...I haven't the patience to wait for the 2p trick to empty the bowl! lol

2p or not 2p .... I think Hamlet would have used the toilet cubicle in the Pathfinder .... not the sink!

It's still quick and easy to pack up or set up. Instead of putting the pipe into the small sink you just push the pipe onto the bottom of the plughole.

I did the pipe extension works great, also to mention the basket under the sink crashes in to drain, breaks the plastic drain as it knocks the bottom of the drain.
