Just away to the Lake District Monday TO Saturday. Being an unemployed older person we wait until after the weekend. Our forecast is thunderstorms and/or heavy rain. No problem, as Billy Connolly would say, "There's no bad weather, just silly clothes."
Last year we got entangled with some Caravan Club meet. We got the condescending looks that a poor relation gets because we were in the FC. After a spectacular thunderstorm I explained that with carbon fibre poles and an Isabella awning we didn't need to spend hours propping the awning up and sorting bent and broken poles. Oh Lord forgive me but it felt good to be smug!
