We bought a lovely Crusader last November and after putting it back up once home to empty all the soft furnishings, we managed to put a small tear in the canvas where the new and reinforced roof meets the side. We put it away in the garage for the winter and got it out at Easter to repair the tear.It turns out that the cabin was not correctly on thus causing the damage.
We have taken off cabins from several cruisers, repaired them and put back on with no issues before. We took the crusader cabin off, repaired it and now just cannot get it back on correctly. My neighbour has tried to help and husband and myself have tussled and struggled with it for hours. The roof bars don't seem to open into the right places now either.
We are at our wits end with trying to sort it! I have googled, tried to you tube any example of what to do and no joy. I am asking here to see if there any tips or advice and also to ask does anyone think it is worth us trying to take it to Highbridge or TVS or somewhere and seeing if we can pay them to put it back on?
We can't go anywhere or even sort out the interior until we achieve this. Please advise.
When we bought it, it had been sat out in 3 weeks of torrential rain. (took it as a good sign that the FC was free of leaks!) We got it home, unloaded all the soft furnishings etc as we knew it would be asleep for Winter and put it in a garage. So it could well be that it has dried and shrunk a bit. We will try the soaking and then give TVS a ring if necessary.
