How do campsites normally charge for trailer tents?

Are they classed as a tent or caravan?

If they charge cheaper for a caravan, it's a caravan. If trailer tent/folding camper, it's a folding camper. Take a different campsite if too expensive.

The only extra we have had to pay is for a larger pitch. The real difference is is it a tf or folding camper. Obviously one looks more like a caravan and the other like a tent.

We need a larger pitch generally as our TT does take up a fair bit of space but probably no more than a large tunnel tent with sun canopy extension.

Ring beforehand to check, most sites now what's what.

Ok guys, thanks for the advice..appreciated.

I'm not really concerned, I just wondered how campsites charge, as normally they only state prices for tents or caravans.

On our first outing we met a lady of a certain age who had years of experience under her belt. She's bought a little electric oven and a microwave. As she explained the cost of the EHU on some sites is actually higher than what you would pay for running your home. Ergo use their electricity and not your gas.

Straight off to Lidl and got a cooker for £30. After two seasons it owes us nothing. You can use it on a 10amp site as long as you remember not to plug other things in. There are ways to recoup some of the site fees and this is obviously one of them. Didn't get a microwave but like many we also have the slow cooker so the gas bottle lasts a long time now.

Grow old disgracefully because it's our turn to embarrass the kids!

Errm but you are not saving any money as you pay more for ehu. A gas bottle like a 4.5 calor at £17 can last two weeks easily even running the fridge as well as cooking with it.
In fact we have never used a whole bottle over a two week period.

Most sites charge more than that for ehu over a two week period.
So we save money within 5 days going non ehu in the uk.

we use ehu on sites and pay,,£2.50-£4 all depending on site,, .. that said,, we went to a site on Anglesey and they charged 20p a unit....    A full bank holiday later thurs night to pack up n go home on monday... Running 2 fridges on max,, tvs, radios, pumps,, etc.. we paid... £4 in usage in TOTAL....
