For me its a FC. Just upgraded from a 10 man tent...we are family of 6. Kids are 11, 9 and 4yr old twins. We have a pennine pullman 86. Got it for under £200 of ebay. Needs some tlc but just had our first weekend away and it was great fun. Littlest 2 go in the far bed. Mum and dad in the diningtable bed and other 2 oon the other side. We havent got an awning but plan on a gazebo or lean to. Kids loved it, cooking was easier and with the help of portable dvd players and nintendo ds we were fine in our little space even in the rain.

Oh and we can put a FC up in far less time than the tent...which for us with kids is a huge bonus.

Hi I bought a secondhand pennine Sterling folding camper last year and have just come back from the highlands of Scotland after a two week holiday and it hasbeen fantastic.
The Sterling is infact a 6 birth camper as you get two double beds at each end and the seats in the cabin also make a double bed and you can also buy a inner tent to put up in the awning.
Go for a folding camper.
Look for second hand folding campers on preloved and go and look a a few put up.

FC for me every time - you would be able to sleep 6 in a cruiser/pathfinder/crusader type, or fiesta countryman type if slept two in awning or under bed pods. Simplest differences for me are the best as in less to peg out, which means quicker set up which means more relaxed family experience:
Plus like the kitchen, bed rooms, living room and bathroom in the camper
