hi there, we have just bought a rapido exportmatic and i am just composing a letter to our local council asking permission to park it on our cul de sac as per our tenancy agreement.
has anyone had any experience in getting this sort of permission from their local council?
my letter is specifying the size, that it is in good order and clean and tidy and will not impact on our neighbours views or parking

I have not had personal experience of dealing with the council in this respect but I doubt they will sanction parking a trailer on the road. I believe a trailer when not attached to a car has to be lit at night in much the same way as a skip. Not being a motorised vehicle it becomes an unnecessary obstruction of the highway, even in a cul de sac. The only way I can see them possibly giving you permission is if you have allocated parking spaces.
Also, it is unlikely you will be able to get insurance for a trailer left on the highway.
It took our council 6 months to decide that we could keep our FC on our drive, but by then we'd found a garage for it. I would doubt if you'd be allowed too park your TT on the road and as Bob61 said you'd more than likely have insurance problems too.

Legally if a caravan or trailer is parked on a public highway at night then it must have lights.
try tellng that to some residents up and down the country, i see several caravans parked up on the road in Bristol ,albiet in the suberbs and in off the main road situations like lay byes outside their house but no lights or whatever
