If you mean the Slide Out poles that come from the main cabin, they come out to meet the T joint at the top of the leg half way along the awning. From memory I used to pull them nearly as far as the first click, join on awning, put on canvas and then tension by pulling sliders out fom unit till hey clicked

Thanks fellas, Jeff sent me a copy and explained the fact that the pull out poles don't actually clip onto anything and the poppers just tension the frame.
