Can anyone tell me the "proper" name for this please....its the hinge bit that holds the hob lid in an upright position. Its screwed to the hob top and the worktop. Ours has snapped and we're looking on internet shopping page and cant find it....

And i cant work out how to add the picture....its been a long day!

I think I'd call it a "hob lid stay"!

Any of these suitable?

Or perhaps your friendly neighbourhood hardware shop (yes, there are a few left!) might be able to find a replacement.

If you can't get one for less than £3, the ones in dubs1978's links are presumably the same as Original Equipment and are rather more reasonably priced than the ones in my link!
