We have two 240v sockets and two 12v sockets in our crusader. Is it possible to change the 12v to 240v as the 12v ones are pretty useless. If so how easy would it be?

Might be simplest to replace the two existing mains sockets with double units?

Same answer as Hacksaw Bob, fit double sockets. Be careful what you plug in though, a high load will either trip the camper electrics or the EHU post.
BTW, we use our 12v for lighting and TV.

We use four-gangs (with individual switches) so that we can leave everything plugged in and just turn things on and off as required. Agree with the others, be a bit careful about not turning on kettle and heater at the same time!

further to the advice given other replies, to replace the 12v with 240v sockets the wiring would need replacing, as most campers are unaware caravans and campers, come under the IEE regs for wiring installations which is now the law,for example the sockets cabling would have to be installed correctly with the appropriate safety control gear, ie rcd,mcb,etc if you look at new fc,s you will see all the control switches etc that is due to the new law, one part of the law says installer must be competent, by way the question was asked,dont touch. get a caravan maintenance engineer or electrician, over 40 years in trade and ive seen some right dangerous lash ups and some close escapes, hope that helps

The regs aren't law but are guidance of best practice.
DIY work in caravans isn't covered by any regs but I agree unless you are competent then you shouldn't do it.

Don't be too quick to get rid of the 12v sockets. I keep a phone charger permanently in the car. That way I'm never without and can use it in the camper. We have an electric cool box which also uses the 12v outlet. The cool box is a priceless bit of kit.

It all comes down to money but we had an additional two 24v sockets fitted to the front of the nearside locker. These were fitted by a professional and look factory fitted. One is for powering the satellite receiver box and the other for an electric blanket.Loading is everything but this way we avoid trailing cables or using a 2/3/4 gang extension in the cabin. An expense you may consider worthwhile.

Same here, we use the 12v sockets to charge all manner of electronic works of the devil!
